The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) has launched an awareness campaign titled “Know Your Label”, aimed at introducing the updated Fuel Economy Label for vehicles. The campaign will run for two weeks and reflects SEEC’s commitment to raising awareness among individuals and the broader community about the importance of the Fuel Economy Label and its role in helping consumers choose more fuel efficient vehicles.
Through the “Know Your Label” campaign, SEEC provides a range of practical tips to help consumers easily read and understand the key information displayed on the label. This includes explaining how to interpret the updated label and highlighting the most important information it provides, as it serves as a visual guide that supports informed decision making and helps consumers identify the most fuel efficient vehicles.
The campaign targets individuals planning to purchase a new vehicle, those seeking fuel efficient options, and daily vehicle users interested in comparing available alternatives to make optimal decisions. It also targets relevant stakeholders, including car showrooms, authorized dealers, vehicle sales platforms, and rental companies.
The updated Fuel Economy Label includes three types based on vehicle category. The first type applies to internal combustion engine vehicles, displaying fuel efficiency in kilometers per liter (km/L). The second type applies to electric vehicles, presenting equivalent fuel efficiency and battery capacity in kilometers per liter equivalent (km/L eq). The third type applies to plug in hybrid vehicles, showing the equivalent fuel consumption efficiency of both power systems, along with engine and battery capacity in kilometers per liter equivalent (km/L eq).
Through this campaign, SEEC aims to improve energy consumption efficiency in the Kingdom’s transport sector, contributing to the conservation of natural resources and supporting sustainability goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
