The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) organized an awareness workshop in collaboration with the Ministry of Education at the Education Directorate in Hail. The workshop targeted student activity supervisors in public schools, as part of SEEC’s initiatives to enable educational staff to promote energy conservation behaviors and reinforce energy efficiency concepts within the school environment.
This workshop is part of a series of community initiatives implemented by SEEC across the Kingdom, in line with the Center’s sixth strategic objective: raising community awareness about the importance of energy efficiency by engaging educational groups in implementing awareness activities in schools. These efforts align with the sustainability targets of the Saudi Vision 2030.
During the workshop, several awareness topics were presented, covering the current energy situation in the Kingdom and challenges related to consumption, along with an introduction to SEEC’s role. Additionally, initiatives targeting general education students were showcased, particularly the “Awareness Programs for School Students,” which aim to empower students to adopt positive energy consumption behaviors both at school and at home.
The workshop also featured interactive tools such as the “Virtual Kafa’a House” and discussions on mechanisms to implement proposed activities in classrooms, enhancing student engagement and effectively conveying awareness messages. Participants received a scientific toolkit containing instructional materials and practical tools to assist them in planning and implementing awareness programs in their schools.
Through this initiative, SEEC emphasizes the importance of collaboration across different sectors to promote energy efficiency practices within the education sector, recognizing its critical role in shaping community behaviors and contributing to sustainable development in the Kingdom.
