As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance energy efficiency and improve market performance, the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) announced a significant improvement in the Energy Efficiency Product Compliance Index for the year 2024. This achievement was made possible through close collaboration with several relevant government entities, as part of a national framework aimed at achieving environmental and economic sustainability goals.
SEEC explained that this progress was the result of 24 intensive inspection campaigns conducted throughout the year, covering markets and warehouses across various regions of the Kingdom. These inspections focused on examining products to verify their compliance with the approved Saudi standards and specifications for energy efficiency.
The inspections led to an impressive 91% improvement in the compliance index—a milestone that reflects the effectiveness of regulatory actions and institutional cooperation, and reaffirms the ongoing commitment to ensuring the quality of products available in the market.
The center also noted that the inspection efforts helped identify over 2.3 million non-compliant products, with necessary corrective measures taken to enforce compliance with the standards—strengthening consumer trust and reducing the circulation of non-compliant items.
SEEC continues to develop its monitoring and inspection tools while launching awareness campaigns aimed at educating consumers about the importance of choosing certified products and promoting sustainable purchasing behavior.
