The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) honored a total of 52 government entities for their outstanding performance in improving energy efficiency for the years 2023 and 2024. The recognition was part of a ceremony organized by SEEC this evening, attended by a large number of heads and members of energy efficiency teams across various government organizations.
Mr. Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Director General of SEEC, emphasized that this recognition aims to promote a culture of excellence and encourage further innovation and progress in this vital sector. He highlighted the pivotal role that government entities play in setting an example in energy efficiency, contributing to the achievement of national targets and expanding the impact of initiatives to ensure sustainability and innovation.
He noted that SEEC has adopted a structured approach to enable government entities to apply best practices in energy consumption efficiency through the "Government Empowerment Program", which was launched in 2018. He pointed to the significant progress made by these entities year after year, which has led to measurable improvements in energy efficiency across numerous government facilities and buildings.
The Director General also affirmed SEEC’s ongoing efforts to empower government energy efficiency teams by building their capabilities, providing practical guidelines, organizing technical workshops and meetings, and implementing awareness programs. These efforts aim to raise awareness among government employees about the importance of rational energy consumption and to foster a culture of energy efficiency in every public institution across the Kingdom.
