Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, General Director of SEEC, emphasized the importance of improving energy production and consumption efficiency as a crucial factor in achieving sustainable economic and developmental well-being. Al-Ghamdi highlighted that the Kingdom has placed significant focus on this sector, which contributes to preserving natural resources, optimizing financial expenditures, maximizing returns on the national economy, and achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.
During the ceremony for honoring distinguished government entities for energy consumption improvement in 2022, Al-Ghamdi stated that SEEC targets key sectors representing over 90% of domestic energy consumption, such as industry, buildings, and road transport. Numerous initiatives have been undertaken to establish and gradually implement energy efficiency standards and specifications in these target sectors.
“SEEC, in collaboration with relevant entities, has implemented initiatives aimed at improving energy consumption rates in the government sector. This includes applying necessary standards to enhance efficiency in all existing and new government facilities and providing training programs for personnel to enhance their expertise in energy efficiency”, Al-Ghamdi added.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Al-Ghamdi awarded the distinguished government entities for energy consumption improvement in 2022, which were categorized into three groups:

Second Category: 17 government entities achieved Class (B) with 85% or more compliance and energy savings.
