Industrial Sector

The SEEC seeks to improve the efficiency of energy consumption and the feedstock utilization in the industrial sector, which consumes about 44% of the total primary energy consumed in the Kingdom. From this standpoint, efforts and initiatives have been initiated in the high intensive industries by developing the necessary policies, regulations and procedures in full cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities and by benefiting from international expertise in this field. In terms of feedstock utilization efficiency, the scope of work focuses on the primary feedstocks, which were identified to include hydrocarbon cracking, ammonia, methanol, propane dehydrogenation (PDH), isobutylene, and benzene-toluene-xylene (BTX).
