Land Transportation Sector

The land transport sector accounts for approximately 20% of the Kingdom’s total primary energy consumption. SEEC, in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, has implemented several initiatives to improve the fuel economy of imported light-duty vehicles (LDVs). These efforts are aligned with the ongoing application of the Saudi Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) Standard. The sector’s scope includes improving energy efficiency for LDVs, heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs), and vehicle tires.
